SYDNEY CALL FOR A PEOPLE-FRIENDLY GLOBAL ECONOMY



The global economy is "unstable and unsustainable" said Philip Jennings,
General Secretary of the international trade union federation FIET, which is
holding its 24th World Congress in Sydney next month. "We want a global
economy that puts people first," said Mr Jennings who heads an organisation
that has more than 400 affiliated unions from around the globe with 10 million
members.
