Regiment marks 70 years of service.

MORE than 600 air force personnel and dignitaries attended a St Edmundsbury Cathedral service to mark the RAF Regiment's 70th anniversary.

The service on Friday also remembered the fallen of the Regiment, founded in 1942 to protect airfields at home and abroad, but whose members also fought alongside the Army at Monte Casino and the D-Day landings. Among those attending were Suffolk's Lord Leutenant, Lord Tollemarche, and Lord Tebbit, who was an RAF pilot in the early 1950s.
