NSW: Brothers jailed over fatal Bondi stabbing

SYDNEY, April 4 AAP - One of two brothers who pleaded guilty to a savage 2006 knife
attack in Bondi has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison.

Justice Peter Johnson today sentenced Dror Salah, 33, an Israeli national, to eight
years and nine months in jail.

He had pleaded guilty to manslaughter part-way through a murder trial last month, when
his younger brother Ezra Salah, 32, also pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the
fact.

Ezra was sentenced to three years prison with a non-parole period of one year and eleven months.

The pair were charged over the killing of 38-year-old Hernan Guelman, who died in hospital
after he was repeatedly stabbed outside a Bondi convenience store in August 2006.

Justice Johnson said the attack was the culmination of a long-running feud between
the brothers and Mr Guelman.

On the day of the attack, the bothers had taken vacuum cleaner pipes with the intention
of bashing Mr Guelman, who responded by grabbing a kitchen knife.

"Once Dror took the knife ... he savagely attacked the deceased," Justice Johnson told
the NSW Supreme Court today.
